Helena Association of REALTORS® Announces New Executive Director

The Helena Association of Realtors (HAR) is pleased to announce George H. Harris, MPA, ARM, as its new Executive Director.  As HAR Executive Director, he will build on the success of the Association’s work of supporting the REALTOR® profession and the Helena community.  His responsibilities will include strategic planning, representing the HAR, advocating for the profession, developing continuing education programs, and administering the Helena Multiple Listing Service.

“I am honored to serve our community and the real estate professionals in this vital capacity,” Harris said.  Harris earned a bachelor’s degree with honors from Utah State University.  He received an academic fellowship from Brigham Young University and obtained a Master of Public Administration with distinction in public finance and personnel administration.  Harris has a distinguished career with the State of Montana including serving in human resources, at the Governor’s Office of Budget and Program Planning, and as the Montana State Risk Manager where he earned his Risk Management degree and served as President of the State Risk and Insurance Management Association. Harris then served as Chief Financial Officer/Central Services Administrator to the Department of Livestock for 21 years.

With his emphasis on sound fiscal responsibility, risk reduction, training, and public service to our community, he is a great fit to advance our 500 strong organization of Realtor members, appraisers and affiliates”

Harris begins employment with the HAR on January 7, 2019.
